Retention of Talent

Due to many businesses and corporations at present are focusing on lowering the cost of manufacturing or service via downsizing, it creates an overall atmosphere of fear and distrust in employees (Juneja, 2018). Thereby making retention of the required talent a lot difficult than before. Also the talented nowadays have a wider variety of opportunities, thanking heavily to increase in competitors seeking the best, and also due to wider availability of job opportunities due to advancement in internet technologies.

Advancement in Technology

Technology as a whole is evolving, and technology related to talent management alone cannot stay at a standstill while delivering a competitive advantage. Rather than utilizing just online learning and standardized techniques technology should be utilized in a manner which is supportive to employees in the organization (Donaldson, 2016).  Doing so requires a certain degree of capital, time and effort which could be costly.

Transfer of Knowledge

With the retention of talent being seemingly difficult at present, the question remains how the knowledge of the employee, who is leaving the organization, can be transferred to the new employee. At present transfer of knowledge requires shorter cycles than before (Erickson, 2008).

Creating Value to Diverse Multiple Groups

With many companies willing to accept diverse work groups, and workgroups consisting of all age groups, in order to broaden their horizon, it becomes increasingly difficult to provide a harmonically and irresistible value to these differentiating work groups.
